Diabetes camps are a great way for you to make new friends and feel more comfortable with your diabetes. At these camps, having diabetes is not unusual. In fact, it's the norm. Kids can talk frankly about monitoring their blood glucose, pick up tips about carbohydrate to insulin ratios, and enjoy being physically active knowing that someone there would recognize if they were experiencing low blood glucose.
Some camps are day camps, and some are overnight. Some camps accept campers as young as five years old. The upper age limit across all camps is 21, although certain camps may have a more narrow age range.
